First Day @ Global One
I am blown away. These kids are so responsible and respectful. On top of that their work ethic is keen which is shown in their motivation to learn and want to better themselves. School is not required so the kids that come realize and are aware that education is their only way out of the slums.
I am teaching in the poorest part of Kenya, but these kids are so filled with energy and love. It is contagious! But the most magic was how smart the children are. I certainly didn't expect it. They caught on to new subjects extremely fast and a good 75% of the class were always eager to answer questions and to be graded. I can't wait to spend more time with them.
My favorite part of the day were the breaks where we filled the tiny courtyard. We danced, sang, played and took selfies. The kids favorite by far were the bubbles!
These next several days will be a blast. Although I feel two weeks isn't enough. Luckily I will be coming again in May to teach Global One again. Remember to check out all of the pictures below and check back tomorrow for another post.
